Fees and loans
The tuition fees for the Executive MBA are payable at the start of the academic year. The programme fees cover all tuition, registration, examination costs and graduation.
Our EMBA participants include those who are company-sponsored and those who fund themselves. We offer a range of scholarships and funding support to help you finance your Executive MBA.
If you are funding your own studies, there's support available to help you. The UK Government provides a scheme offering non-means-tested loans available to students applying to taught and research Master's courses, excluding the International Masters Program for Managers. Find out more about Postgraduate Loans.
If you live outside of travelling distance to Lancaster, you'll need to budget extra for your accommodation during the taught modules. Most students choose to stay at Lancaster House Hotel, which is where most of our EMBA teaching takes place. This hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Lancaster University Management School and within easy reach of the M6. If you would like some other accommodation options, please get in touch with the Executive MBA team.
Senior Leader Apprentice pathway
A pathway to an Executive MBA is available through our Senior Leader Apprenticeship. Apprenticeship students study alongside Executive MBA students and work towards the award of a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership Practice, which can be fully funded by the Apprenticeship Levy. An optional progression pathway is then available to the Executive MBA or Master's in Leadership Practice, for an additional fee, not covered by the Levy.
The scholarships available to candidates are substantial and are awarded on a competitive basis. We have several scholarships available. We recommend applying early for the best chance of securing a scholarship.
Lancaster Master's Scholarship
A tuition fee waiver of up to £5,000 with a Lancaster Master's Scholarship
Health Sector Scholarship Competition
This is a donor scholarship that has been kindly gifted by one of our previous alumni. This competitive award has a single top prize of £5,000. You will need to apply to the Executive MBA programme first before you can apply for this scholarship and you need to be working in the healthcare sector.
We know that increasing leadership development behaviours and skills in healthcare leads to improved patient care, experience and outcomes (The Kings Fund, 2012). Please write an essay of no more than 1,500 words answering the following question:
What are the leadership development opportunities you feel will make a difference to the healthcare sector? How could these be implemented at different levels within your organisation?
In your answer, you should draw on at least one leadership theory e.g. authentic leadership, servant leadership etc. to develop your argument. Completed essays should be submitted as part of your application on the applications portal, as well as emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entries will be judged by faculty from the Executive MBA and the judge’s decision will be final. The deadline for submissions is 31 August 2023.
If you're a Lancaster graduate, you are eligible for an additional Alumni Loyalty Scholarship of up to 20% of the programme fees.
