Sustainable Development Goals

SDG Report 2024/25

Each year, we report on our progress linked to The United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Find out more about each of the goals below and some of our work in each area.

We're playing an active part in tackling The United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Developed by the UN in 2015, the SDGs inspire global action to overcome the world’s biggest challenges — from hunger and poverty to equality and environmental action.

The SDGs inspire us and drive our strategy; from research and teaching to operations and engagement with all our communities. The information in our report below is gathered from staff and students from across the University and progress is publically available for everyone to track and learn more.

Lancaster University is committed to playing a key role in tackling the climate crisis by addressing the Sustainable Development Goals across our teaching, research and engagement and through the way we manage and operate our University as an organisation.
