Xiaoxi Wu is a Ph.D. candidate in accounting at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), Lancaster University. She expects to graduate in 2019.

Prior to joining the Ph.D. programme at LUMS, Xiaoxi received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance (First-class Honours) from Cardiff University and a Research Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management (Distinction) from Lancaster University. She currently holds a visiting Ph.D. position at Fuqua School of Business, Duke University.

Her research interests include voluntary and mandatory financial disclosures, the influence of managerial traits on financial communication strategies, and the economic consequences of corporate communication. She is also interested in the application of inter-disciplinary techniques such as corpus analysis, machine learning, text analytics, and discourse analysis. She has presented her research at Financial Reporting and Business Communication Conference and Discourse Approaches to Financial Communication Conference, and was admitted to the EAA Doctoral Colloquium in 2017.
