Dr Amy Gibbons is Programme Manager for the Wave 2 Growth Hub Programme. Lancaster University is leading the £32m regional growth funded programme, which is based on the Wave 2 Cities policy. This was enacted by the Deputy Prime Minister's Office to devolve power from government back to cities and “to help smaller companies to grow and create more jobs.” Funding was allocated to 15 cities across the UK to promote economic growth in their regions. Dr Gibbons is based within the Knowledge Exchange and Research Group, in Lancaster University Management School. Her role is to establish links with city representatives (LEPs, councils, SMEs and delivery partners including universities) and to develop on-going and wide-ranging research based activity, drawing on SME engagement experience and the research expertise within Lancaster University. Dr Gibbons previously worked in the LUMS Research Support Office developing the School’s impact case studies for the 2014 Research Excellence Framework submission. Prior to this she completed a PhD in the Department of Organisation, Work & Technology, examining the classification of documents, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, in public bodies.
