Dr Neil Shepherd
Senior Lecturer in StrategyResearch Overview
Neil is a Chartered Accountant, and prior to pursuing an academic career he worked for KPMG in London, in both their advisory and audit practices. He joined Lancaster University Management School in November 2022, and previously he held the post of Senior Lecturer in Strategy at Aston Business School in Birmingham.
Neil is focused on theoretically and methodologically rigorous empirical research, drawing on the domains of organizational, social, and cognitive psychology. Specifically, Neil's research is focused on the psychology of strategic management, and the analysis of social and cognitive processes during strategic decision making and strategy implementation.
PhD Supervision Interests
I would love to hear from prospective PhD students interested in topics such as strategic decision making, the psychology of strategy/behavioral strategy, upper echelons theory/top management teams, and strategy implementation.
